General Tips and Tricks
The Mane-ly Long Hair Line includes Conditioner and a Polisher, plus a detangling brush and a maintenance brush. Together they are designed to promote and maintain a longer, silkier, smoother mane and tail. The conditioner and the polisher do their part by preventing tangles, while protecting, and strengthening the hair which prevents breakage, and encourages growth. A heavy application of the Conditioner and or Polisher will make the initial detangling easier. When followed up with Polisher and regular brushing every few days you manely long hair tail will remain tangle free.

The brushes are an important part of the tail maintenance, but they are of little use unless the owner is willing to put in some time and effort. Metal combs and brushes are the first "no-no" in hair care because they break the hair shafts.

Patience is the next requirement in taking a tail from ratty to ravishing. Neglected, badly tangled tails require careful brushing from the bottom up, working gradually to detangle one small segment at a time. A heavy application of Conditioner will help make that initial detangling easier. When followed up by proper combing and polishing in-between treatments, a Mane-ly Long Hair tail will remain tangle free.

Some horse owners have been told not to brush their horse's tails very often for fear of causing breakage and excessive hair loss. But "when the tail is tangle free, you're not going to be breaking or ripping hair out by brushing it. You will simply be brushing it."

Conditioner Tips and Tricks
The Conditioner is used after shampooing the mane and tail. It is concentrated and the amount you use will vary according to hair thickness, length and type. Apply Conditioner to wet mane and tail (generous amount is better), work through thoroughly and leave in for a few minutes. Rinse out most of conditioner, leave some in for continued conditioning effects. Apply polisher now to wet mane and tail (after rinsing conditioner out) to assist in detangling.

Take the thin De-tangler Brush and start at the tips (ends) of the hair, slowly untangling and work your way to the root of the hair. If this is the first application to a very tangled mane or tail, please use a more generous amount and let sit for 5 minutes rinsing out only 75%, letting extra conditioner to work over time for the next few days.

Polisher Tips and Tricks
After tail has been detangled with Mane-ly Long Hair Conditioner, apply Polisher thoroughly working through the hair and leave in: do not rinse out. Mane-ly Long Hair Polisher can be applied to a wet mane and tail.

Apply Polisher consistently between washings and during regular grooming. The Maintenance Brush is the larger square brush that should easily pass through the hair on the first try. If the brush gets stuck or hung up on tangles, then add Polisher with your hands, working through with your fingers. The Polisher will not build up over time and will help prevent tangles making grooming faster and easier as time goes on.

Mane-ly Long Hair Polisher helps prevent "Tornado Tangles". Just apply regularly and work thoroughly with hands through mane and tail.

No time to wash and condition your horses tail? Apply a generous amount of polisher to a tangled tail, work through and start brushing from the tips and working upward and voila, in no time a detangled tail, continue to apply polisher every few days to prevent tangles.

For severely tangled tails, apply generous amounts of Mane-ly Long Hair Conditioner and leave in overnight. Rinse out completely the next day.

Tail-bags can be used on horses with Mane-ly Long Hair Conditioner left on overnight and completely rinsed out the next day.
