ABOUT THE TROPHY LINE

With 24 years of experience in the professional skin care business, I quickly became fed up with the existing mane and tail care products on the market when I inherited a wonderful Morgan, Trophy. His only flaw was a tail in sorry shape. I was dissatisfied with current mane and tail products. Trophy's tail was a mess: dry and tangled with a lot of breakage.

I consulted with a hair-care specialist and created a system that has given my horse a longer, silkier, smoother mane and tail that's easy to use...with great results.

I did it for the love of my horse and now, I proudly present this product to you.

Proper Prep and Care for Beautiful Manes and Tails

With 24 years of experience in the professional skin care business, Sharon Ladman quickly became fed up with the existing mane and tail care products on the market when she inherited a wonderful Morgan, Trophy. His only flaw was a tail in sorry shape. “It was just pathetic,” says Sharon. After trying many products, she spent six months formulating her own: the Trophy Line of “Mane-ly Long Hair.”

The line includes conditioner and a polisher, plus a detangling brush and a maintenance brush. Together they are designed to promote and maintain a longer, silkier, smoother mane and tail. The conditioner and the polisher do their part by protecting and strengthening the hair, which prevents breakage and encourages growth. “They’re like an invisible tail sock that envelops and protects the hair, yet leaves the tail free to perform its job of swatting flies and looking beautiful,” Sharon says.

The brushes are an important part of the tail maintenance, but they are of little use unless the owner is willing to put in some time and effort. “I see many people that take their steel main and tail combs and rip them through their horse’s manes and tails,” Sharon says. Metal combs and brushes are the first no-no in hair care because they break the hair shafts, she says, “Its all about how you prepare the hair and how you brush it. It’s all about have the right tools for the right task.”

Patience is the next requirement in taking a tail from ratty to ravishing. Neglected, badly tangled tails require careful brushing from the bottom up, working gradually to detangle on small segment at a time. Sharon worked along stylists specializing in lengthy dos for many years. She’s learned that the same rules apply to horses and humans when it comes to long hair management. A heavy application of conditioner will help make that initial detangling easier. When followed up with proper combing and polishing in-between conditioning treatments, a Mane-ly Long Hair tail will remain tangle free. “I sometimes have to go a few days between seeing my horse,” Sharon says. “But even then his tail is tangle free and easy to brush.”

Sharon knows that some horse owners have been told not to brush their horse’s tails very often for fear of causing breakage and excessive hair loss. “When the tail is tangle free, you’re not going to be breaking or ripping hair out by brushing it,” she explains. “You will simply be brushing it.”

“I did it for the love of my horse,” says Sharon of starting up Mane-ly Long Hair a year-and-a-half ago. She continues to work as a skin care specialist in Beverly Hills but is being kept increasingly busy with Mane-ly Long Hair’s success.
